NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - September 11, 2025 marks 24 years since the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 and communities and first responders across the country are taking time to honor those lives lost.
Wednesday night, the Norfolk Fire Division invited the community to participate in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb re-creating the 110 flights of stairs climbed that day.
More than a hundred people walking in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001, over 400 of the lives lost were first responders.
“I’m in full gear just so I can have a better perspective of what these men and women went through when they were going to save and help people when the World Trade Centers went down,” said Kylie Voecks Battle Creek, Nebraska volunteer firefighter.
