Mike Scanlon, executive director of Kansas Trails Inc., will embark on a 700-mile cycling journey across Kansas trails to raise awareness and funds for lung cancer and trail development.
The Ride for Resilience will take place from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, 2025, covering 60 trails and 50 towns.
Scanlon, who was diagnosed with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer in March 2024, credits a rare biomarker and targeted therapy for his current status of no evidence of disease. He hopes to meet cancer survivors, fighters and trail enthusiasts during the ride.
