It has been stipulated by the Porcupine Health Inspector that pet owners should take extra precaution with their animals this year with the number of outbreaks of rabies.
On Thursday morning, Terry O’Donnell advised that two dogs and another fox have now been confirmed with rabies.

“People should ensure that their pets are tied and do not run loose especially in the evening. They should also ensure that their pets have been vaccinated against rabies,” said O’Donnell.
He also advised that 18 people will now be required to under post exposure prophylaxis.
Now that rabies has invaded the domestic population, residents should take the matter of rabies very seriously.
