The search for the shooter in the killing of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and close ally of President Donald Trump who played an influential role in rallying young Republican voters, continues Thursday after authorities Wednesday released two people that were detained but later determined not to be connected with the shooting.

As of late Wednesday , no one in custody, and authorities were seeking a new person of interest, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the matter who was not authorized to discuss the situation by name and spoke on condition of anonymity.
