A social media post by the wife of Charlie Kirk has been flooded with thousands of tributes and condolences, as the intense manhunt for the assassin who gunned down the conservative activist entered its second day.

Kirk, 31, an influential ally of US President Donald Trump , was killed in front of thousands at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, local time, as he fielded questions about gun violence.

Just hours before his death, his wife Erika Kirk, also known as Erika Frantzve , shared a Bible verse about support in difficult times.

“Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” the model and ministry leader posted on X, formerly Twitter.
