Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old right-wing political activist and close ally of Donald Trump, was shot dead while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

He was there representing Turning Point USA, the Conservative organisation that he founded.

The event, in Orem, Utah, was held on an outdoor stage, where around 3,000 people had gathered to hear Kirk speak. New Feature
