LEXINGTON, Ky. — A long line of students wrapped around the William T. Young Library on the University of Kentucky’s campus for free and fresh food.
Whether it was for accessibility or dietary purposes, students supported sustainable food use with UK's Wildcat Market.
“I really want to be able to give back to my community back home in Louisville and basically teach the youth because that's where it starts, how to cultivate and harvest their own produce in their backyards,” said bioscience major Zaynah Shahid.
The Wildcat Market is a Student Activities Board and Student Government Association project to provide fresh and nutritious food to UK's campus, all for free.
