A teenager has bravely told a public inquiry how she was stabbed twice by Southport killer Axel Rudakubana, saying he looked ' possessed ' and not human in a facemask at the time.

The girl, who was supported on the witness stand by her solicitor during the hearing on Thursday morning, read from a statement and told how 'just another happy day' turned into a 'living nightmare'. She said the attack still 'plays like a horror film on repeat' in her mind - and told how she still sees Rudakubana running towards her and 'hurting others'.

The first phase of the Southport Inquiry, expected to run until November, is examining Axel Rudakubana's history and his dealings with relevant agencies, along with any missed opportunities to prevent what happened.
