ATLANTA — It has been 24 years since the September 11 deadly attack on America that left more than 2,000 people dead.

Across the country, many people are gathering to remember the tragic day: honoring the brave first responders or thinking about loved ones lost.

In Atlanta, the 9/11 stair climb at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium pays tribute to the hundreds of firefighters and law enforcement officers who died trying to rescue people trapped in the Twin Towers that day.

The event was organized by Emory University's Goizueta Business School. Participants will take 2,071 steps up and down the stadium to mimic the 110 stories of the Twin Towers.
