ATLANTA — Clark Atlanta University has lifted a shelter-in-place order that was issued earlier Thursday as HBCUs across the country investigated threats made to campuses. Spelman College lifted its order after issuing one earlier Thursday afternoon out of precaution.
Clark Atlanta said campus police were investigating the threats made on campus. At the time, the university said it was "addressing the situation on campus that requires a shelter-in-place notice."
"Now that I actually am working at a college, it was kind of a major mental impact, but I had to kind of stay calm," a Clark Atlanta staff member said.
"I had concerns for the students here, the young folks, and making sure I get home to my child."
