WASHINGTON — The Humane Organization Representing Suffering Equines (HORSE of Connecticut), now celebrating its 44th year, will hold its Autumn Volunteer Day on Saturday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 43 Wilbur Rd. in Washington. The Rain Date is Sunday, September 14.
For those who love horses, this is an opportunity to support a local rescue while mingling with the horses. Volunteer Day invites people over age 12 to help with the various needs of the farm and horses. Volunteers may help with grooming, hand walking horses, cleaning paddocks and barns or repairing fences and outbuildings. Volunteers should dress comfortably, wear waterproof shoes, and bring their own tools if they have them. Lunch will be provided.
