Travelers should take care when packing these three items that the Transportation Security Administration just banned from checked bags.
All three items are related to cordless curling irons and flatirons. The good news is, two of them are still allowed in carry-on luggage with special instructions.
Here’s the list:
Cordless curling irons and flatirons powered by butane gas
Cordless curling irons and flatirons that contain lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries
Gas refills (spare cartridges) for curling irons and flatirons are prohibited in both checked and carry-on bags.
Cordless curling irons and flatiron can still be packed in carry-on luggage as long as they have a safety cover that prevents them from accidentally being turned on.
