MILTON — Darkness balanced with humor, and pain balanced with honesty can be found in Elizabeth Scozzari’s stories. From 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, she’ll host a book release and signing party in the ballroom of the Art Academy of Milton for her latest novel, “The Faces She Sees.”

In “The Faces She Sees,” Diana can’t convince her friends that there might be something to the shadowy fear she glimpses. After a relaxing time at a friend’s party, “she wakes up to a missing boyfriend, a bleeding best friend, and the worst hangover of her life. The night is a blur, but her sense of reality only gets worse the more the weekend unfolds.”
