CHESHIRE, Conn. — Three people are facing numerous animal cruelty charges as part of a months-long investigation into animal hoarding in a Cheshire home.
Police said the three are residents of a home on Cook Hill Road, where Cheshire Municipal Animal Control and Cheshire Police were investigating multiple claims of cats and other animals living in deplorable conditions.
The investigation started in June, and animal control officers tried several times to make contact with the residents at the home. Investigators executed a search and seizure warrant in August , taking 18 cats, one dog, and several items from the home.
The animals were housed and assessed at Cheshire Animal Control and at public and private animal control facilities around the state.
