Cheshire police have arrested three residents who are accused of animal cruelty after an investigation that included removing 19 animals from the home.

Cheshire animal control officers started their investigation on June 17 when someone complained that several cats living in a residence on Cook Hill Road were suffering from poor living conditions, grooming and hygiene, police said.

The case was turned over to detectives with the Cheshire police department when animal control officers weren’t able to reach the residents or check on the animals.
