OXFORD — A 31-year-old man from Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested following a stabbing at a hotel on the 1500 block of University Avenue on September 5, 2025.

Officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a disturbance call at the hotel, where they found one individual suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital and has since been released. Authorities said the victim is expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect, Orlando Perez, was detained at the scene and taken into custody. Perez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He was brought before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing. Further details about the incident have not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
