MANCHESTER, N.H. —
A small section of New Hampshire is considered to be dealing with extreme drought conditions, according to the latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor .
The portion in extreme drought includes most of the southern half of Grafton County in an area that covers more than 7 percent of the state.
Most of the rest of western, central and northern New Hampshire is considered to be seeing severe drought.
The Lakes Region, Monadnock Region and Seacoast are considered to be seeing moderate drought conditions.
According to the report published Thursday morning, a portion of Hillsborough County and southeastern Rockingham County, near the Massachusetts border, are not yet seeing a drought, though conditions are described as being abnormally dry.
