The overcast and gloomy days we have been in will slowly depart, bringing a change to Eastern North Carolina, with the return of sunshine. Any showers we see today will be light and will not add up to much. Highs from the 70s will become the lower 80s for the start of the weekend. A few high clouds will be the only thing in the sky, but rain remains zero.

Heading into next week, more sunshine and a slight uptick in the humidity midweek, but still feeling comfortable in the lower to mid-80s. Temperatures at night hold in the lower 60s. The dry string of days holds, meaning drought conditions continue.
