Authorities Thursday identified Desmond Holly as the 16-year-old who shot and wounded two fellow Colorado high school students and then himself the day before.
Indications were that the teen, who later died of his self-inflicted wounds , had been “radicalized by some extremist network,” Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley told reporters Thursday afternoon. But she said there was no clear motive for the shooting.
“Clearly we take that very seriously,” she said.
The teen had covered a wide area, firing a revolver and reloading as he went.
“They fired multiple, multiple times,” Kelley said, leaving several crime scenes “in a huge area.”
Many students fled, while others locked down as they had been drilled to do, undoubtedly saving numerous lives, she said. The
