WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Benton County Fire District 4's decision to reopen Station 410 has led to significant improvements in emergency response times, just two months after it resumed operations.

Deputy Chief Dan Drayton presented early data at a commissioner meeting, highlighting the impact of staffing the station since June 14, 2025. Before reopening, from January 1 to June 13, response times averaged 7.23 minutes, handled by other stations. Now, response times have dropped to an average of 5.04 minutes.

Drayton emphasized the importance of these improvements, saying, "In a true emergency, every second counts. This data shows that having Station 410 staffed is making a measurable, life-saving difference for our community."
