Still a relative newcomer to a men’s semi-pro football league where some of his peers can boast a decade of more of experience, Sudbury Spartans quarterback Adam Rocha found himself playing the role of veteran mentor to a promising, but inexperienced group of pass-catchers and ball-carriers this season.
With patience to match his poise under centre, the now 23-year-old from Whitefish helped to mould that group into one of the most effective offensive units in the entire Ontario Power Five Football League — and one that figures to be even more impactful in 2026.
“I feel like, having been in their shoes, you have to pull back the reins sometimes and not be too hard on them,” said Rocha, now 23. “But they came in and they wanted to learn and they all worked hard.
“We had some really awesom
