RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia lawmakers are reacting to what some are calling the political assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“When I travel to other countries, this is who they think we are,” Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) told reporters. “And it’s harder and harder to make the counterargument to convince anybody that they’re wrong.”
Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) said those in positions of power have to be calmer and more measured when debating political issues.
“Fight hard for what we believe in, yes, but don't go to the point of condemning those we disagree with and somehow questioning their patriotism, their faith,” Warner said.
