A Catholic school in Northeast Portland has formally apologized to the family of one of its former students, 5 ½ months after calling the police on his parents when they demanded to know the then-principal’s plan of action after their child reported being called a racist slur on the playground.

The family was told a few days later they were no longer welcome to enroll their child because they’d violated the school’s code of conduct for parents.
