MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. ( WAFF ) - Four people were arrested after an investigation that led to the dismantling of a drug trafficking organization with ties to Mexico, Atlanta, and other states in the U.S.
During the operation, agents across several North Alabama law enforcement groups carried out search warrants at a hotel near Beltline Road and 6th Avenue in Decatur. Authorities said the location was identified as a narcotics transaction site.
During a search of the rooms, authorities reported finding 24.7 pounds of meth valued at more than $1.1 million.
The following people were arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine:
Victor Hernandez, 36, of Austell, GA
Miguel Aguirre, 28, of Chicago, IL
Nicanor Garcia Garcia, 53, of Chicago, IL
Priscila Karime Narzagaray, 37, of Atlanta, GA
