Ellen Wink found guilty of murder after fatal 2022 shooting, rejecting claims of self-defense.

A former Norwalk city official, Ellen Wink, has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the 2022 murder of her tenant, Kurt Lametta. The sentencing, handed down by the Honorable John F. Blawie on September 5, 2025, follows a jury’s decision that rejected Wink’s defense claims of self-defense and extreme emotional disturbance.

On June 20, 2025, a Superior Court jury in Stamford found the 65-year-old Wink guilty of murder and criminal lockout. Prosecutors with the Stamford/Norwalk Judicial District State’s Attorney’s Office presented evidence showing a history of disputes between Wink and the 54-year-old Lametta, who was her tenant.
