EAST LYME, Conn — A man was arrested Wednesday for an alleged theft of over $87,000 from the East Lyme Little League, according to the town's police department.

Rolland Allard, 42, of East Lyme, is facing a first degree larceny charge. He posted bond and will be arraigned in New London Superior Court on Sept. 24.

The East Lyme Little League said in a statement on Facebook Tuesday that their former league treasurer "misappropriated approximately $87,200 in league funds."

According to police, they received a larceny complaint from the East Lyme Little League Association on June 24. They said their Detective Division's investigation determined Allard took the funds, establishing probable cause for an arrest warrant.
