OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio — On a morning dedicated to remembering the heroes of Sept. 11, 2001, the city of Olmsted Falls chose to honor another hero who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Officer Jamieson Ritter, a 27-year-old Cleveland police officer who lived in Olmsted Falls, was killed in the line of duty on July 4, 2024, while attempting to arrest a dangerous suspect. The ceremony began at the Olmsted Falls firehouse with a traditional 9/11 remembrance, where Chaplain Chris Hinckley spoke about the connection between past and present heroes.
