A male motorcyclist was transported to a Chicago-area hospital Thursday afternoon after disregarding a traffic signal and striking an SUV in Liberty Township, police said.
Deputies with the Porter County Sheriff’s Department were called around 1:0 p.m. Sept. 11 to the intersection of U.S. 6 and North Calumet Avenue for a crash with injuries, according to a release from Sgt. Ben McFalls, the department’s public information officer.
The initial investigation shows a motorcycle being driven by a male driver was traveling westbound on U.S. 6 and disregarded the traffic signal at the intersection of North Calumet, colliding with a sport utility vehicle, according to the release.
