SYLVANIA, Ga. ( WTOC /Gray News) – A 5-year-old in Georgia was killed while waiting for the school bus, according to authorities.
The Georgia State Patrol said a trooper was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash involving the 5-year-old on Thursday morning, around 6:40 a.m.
Officials said a Dodge Dart was traveling northbound on Whitehill Road in Screven County while the girl waited.
Police then said “the pedestrian darted into the roadway for an unknown reason and was struck.”
EMS took the 5-year-old to Optim Medical Center in Sylvania, where she sadly died from her injuries.
