LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- As reaction to conservative activist Charlie Kirk's assassination pours in from all corners of the country, politics, media, and - of course - the internet, an example of a series of viral social media posts originating in Las Vegas has disrupted the career of a businessman in his 70s and provides a cautionary tale of the perils of social media.

The man, 71, and of some stature in the local world of real estate, has since been removed from the board of directors of a professional association, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

His apology Thursday morning, in which he said, "Yesterday I posted a very incendiary comment about the assignation [sic] of Charlie Kirk. I humbly seek forgivenss for all whom I'm offended," came after a series of post and responses the
