CLEVELAND, Ohio - The developer of the Flats East Bank on Thursday terminated the lease of a bar that Cleveland officials boarded up after a mass shooting injured six people following the Browns season opener.
In a statement, George Kimson, the president of Flats East Development, said it warned the owners of Play Bar & Grill about “a number of incidents occurring at or near” the establishment this summer. The incident Sunday “reinforced the need to take action.”
“Gun-related activity and acts of violence have caused us to take strong action as is spelled out in our lease with this tenant,” the statement said.
