ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man was hospitalized Thursday after being injured in a paraglider crash in Barrow County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to Barrow County Airport just after 3 p.m., where they found the man “breathing but not responsive.”

The man was taken to the hospital.

In a statement, Sheriff Jud Smith said first responders were able to quickly reach the scene thanks to a citizen who called 911.

“Their attentiveness played an important role in getting help to the injured individual as quickly as possible,” Smith said.
