EPHRATA, Wash. – Dozens of people gathered in Ephrata for a solemn 9/11 Patriot Day ceremony hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28.

Residents from across Grant County attended to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, as well as those who died in the subsequent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The event also paid tribute to active and retired service members, police, firefighters and healthcare workers.

Jane Montaney from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 highlighted the significance of the banners displayed at the ceremony.
