EVANSVILLE — Demolition of Hartke Pool isn't in the budget for 2026, but it certainly isn't safe to open, either, according to the city.

The pool's budget is nearly empty, with money set aside only for liability insurance, worker's comp and electric payments. Parks & Recreation Director Danielle Crook said Hartke shares some electric with Swonder Ice Arena, and so services haven't been cut.
