TORONTO (CTV NETWORK) - A Canadian man had to delete his social media accounts after he says he was misidentified as a suspect in the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Seventy-seven-year-old Michael Mallinson says his daughter alerted him that his name and photo were circulating online as a possible suspect.

A fake account on social media posted his photo and said he was a suspect, according to Mallinson.

“Shock and horror. I’ve heard horrible things about people having their identities stolen,” Mallinson described.
