NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - New Haven is preparing to make pizza history.
Mayor Justin Elicker, along with Taste of New Haven founder and local pizza historian Colin Caplan, announced Friday that the city will attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for the Largest Pizza Party.
The record-breaking event took place on Friday, September 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the New Haven Green, as part of the A-1 Toyota Apizza Feast held in conjunction with the New Haven Grand Prix.
New Haven hopes to host up to 5,000 pizza lovers, surpassing the current record of 3,357 participants, set in 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
