An Edinburgh paramedic was rushed to hospital after their ambulance crashed into a traffic light.

Edinburgh Live brought you coverage when the incident took place around 5pm on Lothian Road . The vehicle was involved in a collision near the Filmhouse.

The paramedics were on their way to an emergency call when the crash took place. An additional vehicle has since been deployed to the call.

No patient was on board the ambulance when the incident occurred. According to the Scottish Ambulance Service, one of their members of staff was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh as a precaution.
