WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A Kansas nurse is speaking out after being disciplined by the state’s Board of Nursing, saying she’s being unfairly punished for a technical lapse that happened while she cared for her sick husband.

This week, the Kansas State Board of Nursing ruled that nurse Amy Siple violated state nursing laws by practicing while her license had expired. The board cited two instances: when she spoke at conferences on dementia and when she gave free care advice to family members of dementia patients. She was not caring for patients at a clinic or hospital.
