PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) -- Joey Porter Jr. will miss Sunday's matchup against the Seahawks with a hamstring injury, the Steelers confirm Friday. Porter, Derrick Harmon and DeShon Elliot are all out for week 2.
Porter was injured during Pittsburgh's week one win at the Jets and missed the late stages of the comeback. Mike Tomlin was optimistic early in the week that he'd play, but the third year corner failed to practice all week long.
He and DeShon Elliot leave two holes in the secondary. In response, Pittsburgh elevated James Pierre from the practice squad and added safety Jabrill Peppers.
Earlier this week the Steelers placed backup quarterback Skylar Thompson, and linebacker Malik Harrison on injured reserve. By NFL rules, those two will miss, at minimum, four games.
