WARREN, Minn. — A special program in Warren has energized the Marshall County community.

At a time when some rural churches are struggling to keep the doors open, one congregation has found that giving and sharing has sparked a fire in their church.

It's the time of year when Friday nights in Warren are all about fall football. But the buzz in town is about students, a church and backpacks filled with food.

"This is a tangible way they saw they were needed," said Pastor Amber Kalina, who serves Our Savior's-Melo Lutheran Church.
