HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A special celebration event will mark the 50th anniversary of the Honolulu Recreational Community Gardening Program on Saturday.
The Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a free event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Foster Botanical Garden.
The theme of the 50th anniversary celebration is “keep growing,” acknowledging the DPR’s recent investments in staffing, community outreach, revised gardening program rules, and plans for new community gardens.
The event will have educational displays, demonstrations, garden tours, entertainment, food, and, of course, lots of greenery.
