SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Fire Foundation and the PG&E Corporation Foundation have teamed up for the eighth consecutive year to award wildfire safety grants. This year, $950,000 was distributed to 63 fire departments, agencies, and non-profits in Northern and Central California.
In the North Valley, eight groups received a total of $91,200. The grants will fund personal protective gear, specialized equipment, defensible space enhancements and fire safety education.
The North Valley recipients are listed as follows:
Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue - $20,000
North Valley Animal Disaster Group - $10,000
Beckwourth Peak Fire Protection District - $3,550
Bucks Lake Volunteer Firefighters, Inc. - $15,000
Meadow Valley Fire Protection District – Meadow Valley Volunteer
