KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — More than 120 people attempted to run up a greased goal post over the Tennessee River at Volunteer Landing Park in Downtown Knoxville Friday to capture a flag as part of the 'Red Bull Championship Run.'
University of Tennessee sophomore Bennett Wilson was declare the winner. Participants were judged based on time, distance and how close they got to the flag.
He and seven other competitors advanced into the final-eight bracket to determine the winner of the first-ever Red Bull Championship Run to feature a pair of posts. Red Bull officials said Wilson worked his way through the bracket before the final heat, when he snagged the flag as his competitors tumbled into the water.
