As part of a community project, Broomfield now has six new sidewalk murals around the city.

The murals are part of the city’s 2025 Arts in Public Places Community-Initiated Public Art Project and are intended to celebrate Broomfield’s neighborhoods and parks, as well as give viewers unexpected, joyful and creative experiences while using the sidewalks, according to the city’s website.

Melissa Moore is a high school teacher and one of the six artists, and her mural depicts something that’s definitely unexpected on the sidewalk where Vispo Way meets Via Varra in western Broomfield.

“The inspiration for my mural is actually from a lesson I teach in my drawing art classes. Students learn how to draw one- and two-point perspectives on paper in the classroom, and for the lesson final students
