PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- Two months after the passing of the House Bill 1431 or the 'Sunday Hunting' bill, which repealed the state's ban, Sunday, Sept. 14, marks the beginning of the extra hunting day for enthusiasts.
The new law, which took effect Sept. 7, allowed the Game Commission to revisit the already approved 2025-2026 hunting schedule and add new Sunday hunting opportunities.
“This weekend is one for the history books,” Game Commission Executive Director Steve Smith said. “Pennsylvania hunters finally have an opportunity to hunt on a Sunday under the newly enacted law, and I couldn’t be more excited to ring in Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania in 2025.
