The Montana State football team earned its first win of the season Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium, cruising past San Diego 41-7.

Justin Lamson, who transferred from Stanford prior to the season, completed his first touchdown pass as a Bobcat when he found Taco Dowler on MSU’s first drive. Dowler broke a tackle and got a good block from Ryan King en route to a 45-yard score.

Lamson finished with a career-high 293 passing yards, and Dowler's 116 receiving yards were also a career high for a single game. No. 4-ranked MSU (1-2) out-gained San Diego (1-2) 539 to 209 in total yards, including 218 to 66 on the ground.

A 43-yard field goal from Myles Sansted made it 10-0 late in the first quarter, and Lamson tossed a 17-yard TD pass to Adam Jones about midway through the second.
