Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Connor Heyward was fined $6,327 for a late hit on New York Jets cornerback Isaiah Oliver in the team’s 34-32 win.
The play occurred on a punt and during the play, Heyward comes from behind Oliver and gets smacked in the back. It was called unnecessary roughness on the field and cost the Steelers 15 yards, and now Heyward’s wallet is a bit lighter.
There were no other Steelers players fined during the game. Jets edge rusher Will McDonald received a $14,491 fine for a celebration that mimicked a ‘violent gesture.’
