Northwood University claimed its second consecutive Axe Bowl win, knocking off rival Saginaw Valley State University in the 50th Axe Bowl Saturday at SVSU.

The Timberwolves scored the first 35 points of the game, settling for a 38-14 win to improve to 2-0. SVSU fell to 1-2.
