IOWA CITY — Kirk Ferentz made history against UMass.

With Iowa football ’s 47-7 victory on Sept. 13, Ferentz stands atop the list for most wins at a Big Ten program. Ferentz tied Woody Hayes with Iowa ’s season-opening win over Albany and has now officially passed the Ohio State legend.

The record-breaking performance did not come in vintage Ferentz fashion, but that was in part because of the opponent.

The Hawkeyes put up a lot of points. Iowa also had uncharacteristic hiccups on special teams.

Mark Gronowski put together his best performance to date as a Hawkeye.

Gronowski's first appearance at Kinnick Stadium was impeded by nerves and cramps. But his second game in Iowa City was worlds better.
