Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has reshuffled her frontbench, following the dismissal of Jacinta Nampijinpa Price from the shadow cabinet.

Ms Ley confirmed on Sunday that Liberal Senator Claire Chandler would join the shadow cabinet, filling the position vacated by Ms Price.

The Tasmanian Senator will also take on the science and cybersecurity portfolios, after serving as shadow arts minister under former opposition leader Peter Dutton.

Opposition whip Melissa Price will take on the shadow defence industry minister portfolio from Ms Price, after having previously served as defence industry minister in the Morrison government.

The reshuffle also brings Cook MP Simon Kennedy into the shadow executive in the newly created position of shadow assistant minister for artificial intelligence.
